The 'Log Cabin' is located in Shingletown Gap on the edge of Rothrock State Forrest. Surrounded by forest, yet only 4 miles to Beaver Stadium and the Bryce Jordan Center on the Penn State campus. The 'Log Cabin' offers a quiet, relaxing atmosphere yet only minutes from all the action of downtown State College. The 1928 log cabin was originally part of the WRA (Womens's Recreation Association) of Penn State, later to be know as the UCM / PSOC (United Campus Ministry / Penn State Outing Club). All of the original chestnut logs still exist inside and out, yet it features all the modern conveniences. Inside, an eat in kitchen, dining area, half bath and a great room with a stone fireplace occupy the first floor and the upstairs sleeping loft with a double bed, single bed, futon and a full bath can accommodate 4-5 people. The cabin still has the 30 foot covered porch for your grilling needs and plain old relaxation. This property also features a team-building course used by corporate and community groups to develop team building and leadership skills. Rates for the cabin range from $100- $250 per night.
